What is the purpose of a table lamp and floor lamps?
Q. By purpose i mean like what is does, how the way it should be used effects the height it should be made at. (for both table and floor lamps) so for example is it that a table lamp shouldn't be very tall as they are only used to see certain areas whereas a floor lamp is much higher because the light needs to spread out across further. - Is that right? How do you suggest i should write it?

A. A table lamp is there to provide local lighting, sometimes for ambience like a generic decorative lamp but usually to help visually acuity in doing an activity, such as writing, reading or drawing. As they only need to illuminate the immediate area they do not need to be big and only really need to be carefully designed around the reflector to ensure the light diffuses correctly for the purpose. Tall lamps are more usually designed for ambient lighting. Hence their form is more important, as these types usually have very open reflectors/shades to help diffuse softer, less focused light over a greater spread. Hope that helps

How do I replace LEDs for Coralife Lamps and where do I get the bulbs?
Q. I have had 36" Coralife lamps, with daylight, monnlight, and LEDs, for about 6 months on my 75 gallon corner tank The LED bulbs quit. I can't figure out how to remove/replace them. Dou think I should just take the lamp unit to the pet store with me?

What are some types of home lamps that don't generate heat while still being bright?
Q. In my room I have two lamps, each has two bulbs of 60 watts each. In the summertime by room bakes from these lights. What I need is something that will light up my room (Two lamps would be good, but a third if necessary). Something that will light up the room, but it would be great if they were clear or white light, as opposed to yellow. Style of the item, or spacing or anything is not that important. Anyone know of any brands that have these, or any website or stores where I can get them? Thanks!

A. Compact florescent's or CF is about the only way to go as all light bulbs give off heat but the CF are must cooler than standard bulbs
