A broom is a cleaning tool consisting of stiff fibres attached to, and roughly parallel to, a cylindrical handle, the broomstick. It is commonly used in combination with a dustpan. In the context of witchcraft, "broomstick" is likely to refer to the broom as a whole. A smaller whisk broom or brush is sometimes called a duster. An old form of broom was the besom, which was made simply of twigs tied to a handle, and was relatively inefficient as a cleaning implement. Flat brooms, made of broom corn, were invented by Shakers in the 19th century. Today, they are also commonly made with synthetic bristles. Another common type is the push broom, consisting of a wide brush with short bristles, to which a broomstick is attached at an angle. From Wikipedia under the

From Google News Search: "Broom" What is the best broom and mop in one? Q. I have no carpet in my house what so ever, I also have a dog and I have to sweet and mop everyday. I use the broom and a regular mop with replaceable heads that doesnt do a good job. Whats the best priced, longest lasting, get the job done right broom and mop combination? I dont want to constantly buy replacement heads and things like that either (like with swiffer). Thanks in advance! Asked by grfkdesign - Mon Mar 30 20:12:39 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. I have the h2o mop and love it. The Hoover mop is also very good. You can buy a good steam mop at Wal-mart and other stores for around $100. There's no chemicals to buy and the microfiber head is reusable many, many times. The mop also comes with a spare microfiber head so you always have a clean one. To wash, you simply put it in the washing machine. I have 2 cats and a dog, so hair is an issue. The steam mop picks up and holds all the hair and dirt on the floors and its easy to use and, best of all, leaves no chemical residue on the floors. Q. I want to know what types of brooms are recommended for sweeping up wet and dry foliage. Not only for use outdoors, but indoors as well--such as a floral work shop. Asked by LT - Fri Aug 31 03:41:41 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. Check out a website called "www.sweepa.com". My friend, a hairdresser, uses this broom for her shop to sweep hair and dirt. I ordered one (around $25 + delivery) and I have been using it indoors and outdoors. They're very good. Answered by nadia g - Wed Sep 5 18:41:43 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "Broom" |
